Gallery East Opens a New Location

For a brief time Gallery East relocated its programming and exhibits to Congress and Thayer Streets. When Al Ford moved to Chicago in 1990, Duane Lucia promoted gallery events and exhibits as project based pop-ups and created an online entity. Gallery East Boston archived a list of exhibits and performances which took place between 1979 and 1983, as well as a collection of graphic posters from those events. A later website, Gallery East Network, has been the gallery’s exhibit platform since 2005, along with its continued pop-up endeavors.

The new gallery space, which is located on the top floor of the 249 A Street (Boston, MA 02110) artists cooperative, continues to exhibit Paola Savarino’s work and various pieces from the Gallery East collection. The gallery also functions as a work space for artists Duane Lucia and Tony Savarino, as well as visiting artists. Gallery East is open by appointment only; for more information on viewing artwork catalogued on our website, or to purchase work call (617) 416-0718, or email us at galleryeastboston@gmail.com.

The next event at Gallery East and Studio 61 will be the FPAC Holiday Art Sale on Friday, December 8, 2017 from 4-8pm and Saturday, December 9, 2017 from 12-5pm.
